Engagement Session | Turtle Creek Park | Dallas/Fort Worth Photographer

Cori and Caitlin are just so freaking cute!! I can’t wait to share their engagement session with you all because it was seriously amazing. We did their session at Turtle Creek Park and Arlington Hall and it was gooorgeoussss! Despite it being a totally overcast day with absolutely no sun in sight, we were able to create stunning images. We started the session on the bridge and when I saw the first image I knew we would have a great session. Oh, did I mention that that they showed up wearing Blue!! I just love about every shade of blue. The couple also showed their love for their favorite NFL team, the Philadelphia Eagles. Bird Gang!

Now, for their love story!! Cori and Caitlin met at the university we were both attending. They were both studying to obtain a Master’s degree and both working there; Caitlin as a grad assistant and Cori was a full-time staff member. Cori and Caitlin were introduced through a mutual friend, Devonte.

Cori gives the details of their first date: “For our first date, we drove 30 miles to go bowling and out to dinner.  I’m competitive and so is Caitlin.  I ended up beating her, multiple times, but we had so much fun.  After bowling, we went to “Flames”, a seafood restaurant, and ate our hearts out.  On the 30 mile drive back, we jammed out in the car to music, singing at the top of our lungs. It was an instant connection.”

The Proposal Story

Cori planned the perfect proposal for Caitlin. Here is their proposal story from his perspective.

“Caitlin is the nosiest person I know! So I knew that I had to do something amazing to catch her off guard with the proposal.  I knew she wanted friends/family to be there. I knew she wanted someone to capture the moment. However, I am not a person who enjoys being similar to other people; I enjoy being different.  During our boyfriend/girlfriend time, we spoke a lot about wanting to get with friends and partaking in an escape room. So, I contacted an escape room in Arlington, and let them know that I was planning on proposing in the escape room.  The company was so ecstatic and wanted to help out in any way.  They gave me hints to the room, afforded me extra time, and in the end, it all worked out.

December 29, 2018, we woke up without friends and went to the escape room.  We spent over an hour together in that room, trying to complete all of the puzzles to get to the last object to “free” us from the room.  Everyone in the room knew I was proposing, except Caitlin.  Time was running out, it was down to the wire, and she got the last code to open up the last object.  When she opened the cabinet, the ring box was looking at her, and I was on a knee.  Friends and family surrounding and my brother recorded it.  I expected her to be funny about the situation, but she burst into tears.  I planned an entire speech but forgot it all at the moment.  The best thing happened because she said yes!”

Cori and Caitlin are so precious and I’m so glad they allowed me to document their love story! They’ll be getting married this Spring and I cannot wait to witness their union. I couldn’t imagine a couple more perfect for each other!
